Six Monthly Writing Workshops with Sandra Marinella (registration below)

Do you have a story? Of course, we all do! We are even defined by the stories we hold in us. Stories can help us understand ourselves. They can heal us. They can help us find personal meaning and positive ways of framing and experiencing our lives.  Writing stories can help us grow, and sharing our stories with others in community, and perhaps through publication, can help others.

If you want to write in your journal for your own well-being, or if you want to stretch and write poems, stories, a memoir, novel, or nonfiction book, you are invited to join a community of writers who come together twice a month–once a month for inspiration, prompts, time for writing, and reading or discussing our work in a small and large group. We also meet once a month to simply write!

Writers of all levels are welcome to write, read, and share their work in a caring and confidential community. You will be coached by Sandra in the science of storytelling and writing. You will learn not only how to craft your stories, but also how you can use story writing to craft personal well-being and resilience.

DATES: First Thursday of each month—August 1, Sept. 5, Oct. 3 Nov 7, and Dec 5, 2024

Optional writing group on these Thursdays–Aug 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, and Nov. 21, 2024

TIME:   10-12 am PT

COST: Choose your preference on the registration form.

$80 covers the cost for five workshops—and four optional “writing together” or accountability groups from Aug-Dec 2024.

$100 covers your cost and helps someone else attend.

Do you have a story that needs to be told? Most of us do!  Based on her pioneering work with writers, veterans, and cancer patients, Sandra will share inspiring stories from both her book, The Story You Need to Tell, and her work. She will teach us how to use personal stories and writing to move past personal hardships and toward resilience and renewal—even when faced with a cancer diagnosis.

Do you have a story? Ignite your interest in the power of your personal stories. Together we will read The Story You Need to Tell and talk about how our brains are wired with our stories, and how our stories can define, grow, and even transform us. We will explore how to share and write our stories in ways that will lead to renewal, resilience, and well-being—even amid challenging times or any life-altering experience. Based on positive psychology and pioneering research with veterans and cancer patients, this guide was created to help us share, write (optional), and live our best stories. Join us for story inspiration and connection.  Limited enrollment.
